Tanktech BV uses advanced 3D scanning technology to calibrate ship tanks with extreme accuracy. Our process is fully traceable, meaning that all steps, from the initial scan to the final calibration table, are carefully documented and controlled.

From scan to 3D model .

Our advanced scanners accurately map the complete geometry of the ship's tank. The collected data is converted into a detailed 3D model, which gives us a complete insight into the shape, volume and possible deviations of the tank. This model serves as a basis for reliable and accurate volume measurements and calibrations.

It is used for, among other things:

Exact calculations of tank volume at different filling levels.
Analysis of any deformations in the tank wall and tank bottom.
Preparation of calibration certificates, including correction tables for trim and list, to ensure the accuracy of measurements under various conditions.

How do we work?

Preparation

We check in advance whether the measurement can take place safely. We assess accessibility, ventilation and safety. Only when the green light is given do we proceed to carry out the assignment.

3D scanning

The tank is completely measured with a high-end 3D laser scanner. This contactless method produces a detailed point cloud that shows the exact internal shape of the tank.

Drafting 3D model

From the scan we generate an exact 3D model. This forms the basis for the volume calculation per measurement level and is fully aligned with the real geometry of the tank.

Certification

We process the data in an official calibration certificate with volume tables. The certificate is internationally recognized and suitable for inspection or registration.
